Loqi Tummelt is given vacations, and gets to spend a whole month home. He avoids his dysfunctional and strict family and finds comfort in the youngest siblings, who he's willing to protect at all costs.

A story where the phrase "A family among ruins" takes multiple meanings.

After losing his home and family, Loqi ends up saved by the last person he would ever accept help from, in the enemy kingdom's capital city, with nowhere to go. Under the care of Cor Leonis, Loqi has to deal with living with the man he hates, with the loss of his family and home, and with a heart broken beyond repair.

Maybe Cor doesn't aim to fix said heart, or to get Loqi's acceptance, but he will try to help him through his recovery, be it physical or emotional.

A story where Loqi learns that family doesn't need to be blood-related only, and that sometimes you find it in the last person you expect to learn to love.

Perché leggerla?

*CI SARANNO LEGGERI SPOILER* Sono rare le fanfiction sulla mia OTP di Final Fantasy XV e ancor meno lo sono le longfic, e questa perla è entrambe le cose. L'ho iniziata a leggere con grandi aspettative - ero affascinata sia dalla coppia che dagli avvertimenti tutt'altro che allegri -, e la storia si è rivelata essere ancor migliore di quanto potessi pensare.
Infatti mi sono trovata davanti a delle tematiche delicate ma sono sempre state trattate con rispetto, senza sminuirle o ingigantirle all'estremo.
La trama si muove insieme a questi temi, senza mai essere appesantita. E gli stessi personaggi sono ben caratterizzati e non stereotipati. Si muovono in modo umano e sensato con ciò che li circonda. Qui, ad esempio, abbiamo Loqi che si trova a dover stare con Cor dopo essere stato tradito dall'impero, e non cambia carattere e/o modo di comportarsi da un capitolo all'altro, ma la sua crescita è lenta e ben giustificata. Ed è un piacere da leggere.
Inoltre, essendo una "What if?" il mondo di FFXV viene stravolto da un dato evento (la base di questa fic) e da li tutto il background del gioco muta e si evolve in modo forse non troppo originale (è un tropes che si può trovare in tante altre storie) ma sicuramente ben gestito.

Adoro questa fic e consiglio a tutti di leggerla, sia che siate fan della coppia o anche solo del gioco!
